Without pain, there would be no suffering, without suffering we would never learn from our mistakes. To make it right, pain and suffering is the key to all windows, without it, there is no way of life. -Angelina Jolie

I have to break off into a random tangent for a moment and say that I find website domain naming extremely aggravating. When I first started I went with a generic name that could mean just about anything, Ixthera. It was simple and random. However, I realized quickly that it was also very difficult to say or explain to someone during a casual…[Read more]

Does anyone know anything about this old cotton Gin? It is called Scurry’s Gin and is located in Chappells, SC. The only information I’ve found was in Mark’s Travel Photos which states that it was constructed around 1910. Any information would be appreciated.

I’m planning to do a Devil’s Tour that will take me all over the state. Some of the planned stops are two separate Hell Hole Creeks, The Devil’s Kitchen, Hell Hole Swamp, and Devil’s Footprint. Do you have any suggestions? I am looking only for places that involve The Man in Red tights only. This isn’t a ghost hunt. It is just a road trip around…[Read more]

    • Hells Gate Cemetery in Spartanburg… There is not a lot worthy of a photograph though.
Not really devil related, but there is the penitentiary grave markers in Elmwood Cemetery… If you’ve ever taken a tour of a prison, they went through hell to survive… A twist on what you are looking for.

      • Right! Hell’s Gate is a good one. The problem is that it isn’t really called that… I guess that doesn’t really matter though. Devil’s Footprint is only a nickname as well. Hell, I will add it. Thanks. I will check out Elmwood too.

    • This is amazing! Where did you find that piano?

    • I was invited to take photographs of an old school house in Newberry. It was built in 1926 and closed in the 60’s. Talk about a time capsule! There were chalk boards, a wood burner to keep warm, a wood burning stove, one of the original desks and this lonely piano. I also sat and talked with 2 former students who went to the school. Let’s just say…[Read more]

Today was spent mostly working on the website. You\’ll notice a new \”asset\” page. Members will now be able to download useful files to begin participating in these activities. My hope is to help others who wish to start their own website or those wishing to contribute here.
